Thank you for this. I'm located outside of the US (in South Africa) and have been thinking about non-cooperation from our positionality in the world. Not supporting those companies, yes. Coming off social media, yes. AND also taking a critical look at where my money is invested. Looking at regular pension savings, for example, and changing portfolios so that I'm not investing in big tech etc.

Thank you Satya. So much. I've felt like I've been drowning. With this post, you hold out a limb for me to grab onto. It's lovely to feel a little more oriented.

I love this. Especially the bit about not paying taxes. But my fear is the consequences of that. Like heavy fines or jail. Is it worth it?

I think that’s always the question. The more people who participate and share the burden, the more impact it has, and the more worth it it is.

Absolutely. Well, count me in. Heading to the protest on April 5th with a sign that says no taxation without demuskification LOL credit to my husband

Satya joon, I’m so grateful for your heart, your keen insight, and the speed with which you can ‘shake yourself out of the haze of this abuse’ and share your wisdom in such an actionable way. You are a gift my friend 🌷

Patti Smith -- my response will always be action+poetry. We need this song. Her words embolden and soothe.

I was dreaming in my dreaming

of an aspect bright and fair

and my sleeping it was broken

but my dream it lingered near

in the form of shining valleys

where the pure air recognized

and my senses newly opened

I awakened to the cry

that the people have the power

to redeem the work of fools

upon the meek the graces shower

it's decreed the people rule

The people have the power

The people have the power

The people have the power

The people have the power

Vengeful aspects became suspect

and bending low as if to hear

and the armies ceased advancing

because the people had their ear

and the shepherds and the soldiers

lay beneath the stars

exchanging visions

and laying arms

to waste in the dust

in the form of shining valleys

where the pure air recognized

and my senses newly opened

I awakened to the cry

The people have the power

The people have the power

The people have the power

The people have the power

Where there were deserts

I saw fountains

like cream the waters rise

and we strolled there together

with none to laugh or criticize

and the leopard

and the lamb

lay together truly bound

I was hoping in my hoping

to recall what I had found

I was dreaming in my dreaming

god knows a purer view

as I surrender to my sleeping

I commit my dream to you

The people have the power

The people have the power

The people have the power

The people have the power

The power to dream, to rule

to wrestle the world from fools

it's decreed the people rule

it's decreed the people rule

Listen

I believe everything we dream

can come to pass through our union

we can turn the world around

we can turn the earth's revolution

we have the power

People have the power

The people have the power

The people have the power

The power to dream, to rule

to wrestle the world from fools

it's decreed the people rule

it's decreed the people rule

we have the power

People have the power

we have the power...

🤦🏻‍♀️ oh dear! Thank you, Donna. My brain told me something was wrong with that parenthetical statement, but I didn't pay close attention. I've deleted it in the online version.

This is one of the best posts I've read regarding our current state of affairs and what each of us can do. Between this and recent conversations with friends/family I feel energized and am getting off my tush .

Thank you for this incredibly helpful and important piece. If we all take even small stands of resistance in our daily lives, it can add up to a big change. 🙏🏼
