Hi Satya, we have your awesome book on our bookshelf and it gave both my husband and I so much to discuss... I’m a Meaning type and he’s a Stability type haha. Cool to see you writing here on Substack and looking forward to following along from one therapist to another! 🙏🏼✨

Nice to meet you, Stephanie! Thank you for your sweet note, and hope you're staying warm in this weather. It's an ice rink in Portland at the moment.

Good breathing technique. I feel by doing this quiet ,silent and peaceful internally .

But I do other breathing exercise. In my breathing exercise I close my eyes and just i focus on inhale and exhale of my breathing and I increase the time of inhale and exhale of breathing.

I’ve used Om as a breathing technique for years. Vooo, at least for me, engages a lower register, which results in vibrations not just just in my throat, but from my throat down to at least my solar plexus and maybe as low as my upper belly. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Love this technique! Simple and effective. Can be done easily at any point throughout the day :-) Also, thank you for sharing the artwork of Hilma af Klint. Oh my, I'm hooked! I found YouTube videos that share more about her work and the exhibit that was at the Guggenheim. Breathtakingly beautiful https://youtu.be/QUAU_Ym8rY8?si=ys-rq8NYQHYlP3YV

In lieu of the Guggenheim (as if anything can replace that!) I'm going to watch YouTube videos I found chronicling her work and there is even a movie about her called Hilma (2022). I've included links below for anyone who is interested... or maybe it's just me :-)

It feels quite pleasant! I've done this exercise a while ago with a somatic coach. I forgot all about it until the newsletter notification! Thanks for the reminder, Satya! - and I wanna share also that it's really worthwhile to practice these exercises outside of acute/crisis moments, even when one is 'okay' - then when we need them, they're top of mind ☺️

This is very helpful! Also, I practice QiGong, which includes many breathing and sound techniques.

We take in so much negativity just watching the news, etc. All the best, Barbara Bartels
