The Search for Self in Quarterlife: a Retreat
For three full days and four nights, a small group of participants will have the opportunity to sink into two daily workshops with me, intimate community discussions, and silent reflection, while enjoying beautiful shared meals by chef & writer,
—all against the backdrop of Saturn’s Return during peak August abundance. In a morning and an afternoon session each day, I will lead a small group of retreat participants through exercises to guide toward finding stability and meaning. Through self-investigation, group sharing, journaling, and dialogue, we’ll clarify the steps we each need to Separate from past dynamics or belief systems that no longer serve us; Listen to our bodies and souls for what they know about our paths; and clarify what we need to Build (or deconstruct) to make a life of stability and meaning possible. Throughout, we’ll be surrounded by Quarterlifers experiencing the same ups and downs as we are.
In your downtime, you can join Emma Rastatter of Saturn's Return to harvest our meals and learn more about the workings of the farm, visit with others, or just rest in the stunning surroundings.
I am also so excited to have
of Morning Person Newsletter joining as an assisting facilitator!Click here for more info or to grab one of the last spots!
Podcasts
I’ve loved being able to join some wonderful people in conversation over this last year about the issues facing Quarterlifers and some of the solutions available psychologically and socially. Each host provides a unique lens to guide a rich discussion. Here are just a few highlights:
NPR’s Life Kit & Morning Edition with Marielle Segarra, a quick (exquisitely edited) 3min piece about the tug-of-war between meaning and stability in this time of life. It was an honor and a joy to talk with them.
The Podcast with a Thousand Faces with John Bucher in which we discuss Joseph Campbell, the gendered lens of the Hero’s Journey, modern masculinity, and so much more. I loved this conversation.
Pulling the Thread with Elise Loehnen on this stage of life and just how difficult it can be. Elise always brings a beautifully personal lens to her conversations and this one is no exception.
The Experience-Oriented Fitness Podcast with Coach Caleb, an early and enthusiastic reader of Quarterlife who reached out to discuss embodiment from a Jungian lens. We covered a lot of ground and broached the not-so-cozy topic of Jordan Peterson.
Alchemical Toil with Alexis Durgee, in which we get deep into the Jungian theory behind meaning and stability and the developmental stage that is Quarterlife. (This is a video, not a podcast.)
Many more conversations can be found here.
